The Story of Mission 1001 Cats

It all started with a Mamma Cat giving birth to three beautiful kittens!

In the garage of my house, a cat gave birth to three kittens. I already had two cats of my own at the time. I wanted them to know how to fend for themselves and survive independently. I made an effort to look after that cat family so that no people or other animals could harm them. I gave the mother cat food from a distance and watched the kittens grow. It was so much fun to watch them run and play. I helped them with minor difficulties.

Then one day, everything changed...

Sadly, I wasn't there for them when they faced their greatest threat. Humans were to blame for their misfortune. One of the three kittens was dying. I held him in my hand and tried to save him. I even called the veterinarian, but it was too late. The kitten passed away.

The Sibling Cat Who Turned My World Upside Down

The most upsetting part was when I was about to put him down. I noticed his mother watching from a short distance, and one of the other kittens was huddled up next to her, tears streaming down her face. She was crying over the death of his sibling. Everything happened so quickly that I couldn't comprehend it. How is it possible for a cat to have such strong feelings that it can weep like a human? My chest burned with grief. I let go of my composure when I returned home.

Moment of Realization...

At that very moment, I wondered how such a lovely creature's life could end so abruptly without anyone taking note of it. I thought about how unfair it was to them that no one spoke up about it. I wondered what I could do to ease my sorrow. I realized that I had to fight like many others. I am a photographer, and my camera serves as my weapon. I'll use it to capture their beauty and share it with the rest of the world. My sole purpose is to convey a single message: appreciate their beauty, their existence. If you cannot find love for them, at least grant them the dignity of life. Let them roam free, unburdened by human cruelty. 

Those Tears Sparked "Mission 1001 Cats"

  • My camera, their stories and our combined action...

    It's a voice against cruelty towards animals, a voice against mistreatment, a voice against treating any living being in a way they don't deserve. I'll use photography to say 'NO' to cruelty against animals. I will take 1001 pictures of different cats, each unique and special, in different corners of the world, one at a time. Through these portraits, I want to showcase the true beauty of these creatures, their resilience, their spirit. I will share the story of those cats and their names, and if they don't have one, then we will give them one together. We brought them into our homes, into our lives, and now it's our responsibility to protect them.

    One day, this mission will end, but the images, the stories, and the echoes of my voice against this cruelty will live on. It's a reminder to the people of this world that we can all live together in this beautiful world without harm or hatred. If you don't connect with animals, simply leave them be, but never cause them pain. They too feel; they experience the world just like us. My love for all creatures, especially cats, fuels this mission. Their grace, their vulnerability, their ability to soften even the hardest hearts, these are the reasons I chose them as my voice.
